Ancillary Sewer Construction (South)

Sewer and Stormwater Installation and Emergency Repair, CDWM

OMEGA provided project management and construction engineering services for this program for the Chicago Department of Water Management. This program consisted of emergency repairs and complicated point repairs to the City’s aging infrastructure, as well as full roadway reconstruction throughout some of the oldest parts of the City from 2010 – 2015.

Projects consisted of the construction of cast-in-place sewer connection structures, installation of precast tumbling basins, emergency repairs of collapsed sewer mains, water main replacement, installation of water main support structures, construction of both stick shafts and full earth retention systems, combined sewer replacement, repairs to both residential and commercial service connections, and various storm sewer improvements. Pavement restoration, resurfacing, curb and gutter replacement, sidewalk replacement, ADA improvements, and site restoration were also included.

Project coordination with CDWM, MWRDGC and local Aldermen was necessary to minimize conflicts with other city projects.
