US 34 Reconstruction
from Big Rock Creek to Eldamain Road
OMEGA provided construction engineering services for the Illinois Department of Transportation. The project began east of Lew Street in Plano, IL, and extended easterly to west of Eldamain Road for a length of approximately two miles.
The improvements consisted of reconstructing an existing two lane pavement to a pavement consisting of two lanes in each direction divided by a new concrete median and a curb and gutter system placed along the outside lanes.
Other project improvements included bridge widening at Big Rock Creek, installation of a new box culvert, driveway reconstruction, crossroad reconstruction, shared-use path construction, traffic signal modernization, an enclosed storm sewer system, erosion control, traffic control and protection pavement marking and signing, and other related roadway items required to complete the project.
