ComEd Transmission Relocation Work

Commonwealth Edison

Western Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois
As part of a $4 billion roadway widening reconstruction project, OMEGA is responsible for overseeing 35 ComEd transmission towers relocations.

Project Scope

The towers carry high voltage from a local substation within the project limits to users in the western parts of Illinois. In order to accomplish the relocation in tight quarters, OMEGA works closely with multiple designers to ensure new locations do not conflict with the proposed work.

Our team of professionals utilize their expertise in the following areas of scope to successfully execute these massive relocations: risk management, project controls and scheduling, coordination of all design elements, subsurface conditions and geotechnical knowledge, land and easement acquisitions, intergovernmental agreements, utility coordination, construction management, and public outreach.
