Milwaukee Avenue

Chicago Department of Transportation

Chicago, Illinois
OMEGA provided construction engineering services for this $7 million project located just south of the historic “Six Corners” neighborhood on Milwaukee Avenue between Kilpatrick Avenue and Kildare Avenue.

Project Scope

The project involved full depth Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement reconstruction between Kenton Avenue and Kilbourn Avenue to allow the Metra and Union Pacific railroad viaduct pavement to be lowered to match the latest clearance standards, staging reconstruction so that one lane was always maintained in both directions on Milwaukee Avenue, and extensive coordination with Metra for repairs to the superstructure and pedestrian stairs.
