The sewer structure rehabilitation (SSR) program extended throughout the entire city, from the Central Business District to the southern limits of Hegewisch to Edison Park in the north. The program was divided into three main geographical areas – North/Central/South then further into individual grids.
The project included:
- Cleaning catch basins, inlets and manholes within the grids with high pressure washers and vacuum trucks
- Lining sewer structures with cementitious material
- Repairing or replacing precast structures
- Collecting field data and reporting out on a cloud-based mapping platform for the City of Chicago
