Project Scope

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) Streets Infiltration project is a $4 million project located throughout various locations in the City of ChicagoThis project consists of performing all work for the installation of pervious Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) pavements, engineered soil and seed mix for infiltration swales and associated roadway reconstruction, nearly 700 feet of clay pipe and iron pipe drain connections, the installation of nearly 3,000  feet of underdrain pipe, the installation of manholes, catch basins, inlets and underdrain cleanout structures, and the construction of concrete collar connections.  

Other work on this project includes site mobilization, traffic control and protection for the duration of the contract, removal and replacement of signages, removal and or abandonment of existing sewer, excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling and compaction of excavations, restoration of pavements including Portland Concrete Cement (PCC) base course within the sewer trench limits, curb and gutter, driveways, Americans with Disabilities compliant ramps, and sidewalks. At the project’s conclusion, the streets were resurfaced with HMA leveling binder and HMA surface course, pavement markings will be installed, and landscaping completed.
